Since I have admin access, it is now installed and appears to be doing what you wanted. However only on the homepage as that seems to be the only page in this theme that actually shows the excerpt. It could be done in one of three ways: a theme that supports it already, a plugin that adds the thumbnail to the summary, or modifying the theme.
